Honest words for greater equity

We can make a positive difference to society’s narrative and create a fairer world by collectively writing with truth that embraces uniqueness.

I promise to listen deeply

And accept and celebrate all as they are. I strive to build a culture founded upon truth, fairness, and dignity for my clients and the business owners I’m in community with.

Wordified spaces are places where everyone is welcome and are free to be themselves.

  • I support traditionally marginalised groups by donating 1% of my monthly profit to The Human Rights Law Centre: https://www.hrlc.org.au/.

I believe in transparent pricing and use a sliding scale to better support marginalised groups who have little to no access to capital in comparison to large corporations.

I do not tolerate anti-blackness, sexism, racism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, and other forms of discrimination. I am unequivocally against anyone making profit through exploitation, manipulation, rankism or unethical business practices.

I strive to make accessibility standard in my business practices through active promotion and raising awareness, using captions and having a safer spaces policy.

I am privileged to be able to choose who I work with or for. I do not work for industries that can directly cause harm to others or companies that profit from promoting unrealistic standards of perfection. This includes specific areas of cosmetic/plastic surgery and diet culture, gambling or tobacco industries.

    • I’m aim to be as compliant as possible with WCAG guidelines and regularly check my site to ensure it is to standard.

    • I annually review my website copy to ensure the language reflects up-to-date terms.

    • I am committed to undertaking at least one anti-oppression training course or workshop per year.

    • In the next two-five years, I plan to attend workshops and training to better support the trans and BIPOC communities.

    Since 2020, I have completed:

  • I want to be held accountable for what I say I will do and what I stand for. I hope my community will highlight any areas where they feel my words and actions are not aligning.

I am committed to actively listening to any feedback and examining myself and my actions. I’m human and will make mistakes. I will own those mistakes and use them to learn and inform my actions going forward.

I am committed to a collaborative response to repair. If any of my community feels one of my collaborators or I have done something that goes against my ethics and values, I encourage them to contact me via email to kelly@wordified.com.au outlining details of what happened and why they felt it was against my ethics and values.

I promise to acknowledge the harm done promptly. I may ask clarifying questions so I can fully understand. I will ask what outcome they would like to see, and/or I will list my intention and timeline for repair.

  • I am in the process of unlearning and relearning. These efforts are not fixed but continual and constantly growing. If you have any questions, concerns or feedback regarding this ethics page or how you think I can create more equitable spaces, you can contact me at kelly@wordified.com.au.
